Japanese pop culture has perfected the tension between cute and scary. Nowhere is that more apparent than with Hangry & Angry, two feline characters that have grown into a clothing line, toy plushies, web comic, and now a live-action band.
Hangry & Angry were dreamed up by Japanese designer Naoto Hirooka, who launched the fashion brand h.Naoto in 2000 for the company S-inc. The Hangry & Angry clothing line combines punk and gothic lolita sensibilities.
