It all started with Fruits Basket. In high school Susan Nguyen became a huge fan of the beloved shojo anime seriesshe even made herself a rabbit-eared hat based on Momiji, her favorite character. The hat was a hit at school, and soon Nguyen found herself taking special orders from her classmates. That summer she tested her luck at a nearby anime convention, Dallas's A-Kon, with encouraging results.
