White felt for Moko face and eyes (furry felt is used here)
1. Cut out Moko pattern pieces. Trace eye, nose and ear patterns onto felt and cut out.
2. Glue eye pieces together, using the Moko pattern as a guide.
3. For Moko's face: Trace pattern onto felt (if using furry felt, trace pattern outline on wrong side). Add a 1/4-inch seam allowance and cut. Pin pieces together, outlines facing out. Tuck ear pieces between layers and hold in place with pins.
4. Stitch the face and ear pieces together along the traced outline using white thread. (Note: The thread is green in the photo so you can see the stitching.) Leave a 1-inch opening along the bottom so that you can turn the face inside out.
5. Snip "V"-shaped notches in the seam allowance area. These notches will prevent the face from bunching up after you invert the piece.
6. Flip Moko face inside out to reveal ears.
7. Glue on eyes and nose, using the Moko pattern as a guide. Sew on the mouth using one stitch with black thread.
8. Stuff. Sew opening closed.
9. Finished!
Tip: Turn Moko into a sachet by adding a bit of potpourri or lavender to the
stuffing.
