Mitsumame (みつ豆)
Girls find the pretty mitsumame super cute. These jelly cubes are made of agar (also called kanten), which is derived from a type of seaweed, and topped with whole red beans and fruit (like peaches, pineapples or tangerines). The whole thing is then drizzled with syrup. If you put a scoop of red bean paste on top of mitsumame, the dessert is called anmitsu. You can also enjoy mitsumame with ice cream or small mochi. Yum!
